Balloon Arch or Garland

Choosing the right balloon decoration for your event isn’t always straightforward. Clients in Atlanta, Smyrna, Marietta, and Alpharetta often confuse a full structure arch with an organic balloon garland. This guide clears things up. Both styles look stunning, but they serve different purposes, need different setups, and come with their own advantages.

What Is a Full Structure Arch?

A full structure arch is a complete, freestanding piece with a weighted base that keeps it steady on the ground. I pre-assemble the arch sections in advance, so on-site installation takes about one hour. I air-fill these balloons and can arrange them in a variety of patterns. An arch works outdoors, but it lasts significantly longer indoors. This style works especially well for grand entrances and any spot where guests will walk directly underneath it. After the event, I return to pick up the rental frame myself. Final pricing depends on size, materials, and assembly time.

What Is an Organic Balloon Garland?

An organic balloon garland is the more flexible cousin of the balloon arch. It mimics the look of natural, flowing foliage using only balloons. Unlike a full arch, a garland doesn’t need a heavy structural base. Instead, it attaches directly to a wall, backdrop, or existing surface. To get that lush, organic look, I use a custom mix of balloon sizes — mainly 5″, 11″, and 17″ — and save the 24″ and 30″ balloons for very large installations. Garlands are highly flexible to place. I can install them in sections or as one long, flowing line to match your venue. They look great on their own, and they also pair beautifully with added greenery or florals for a more premium look.

Which One Should You Choose?

Choose the full structure arch if you want a dramatic, freestanding focal point that guests can walk through. Choose the organic balloon garland if you want a flexible, frame-free decoration with a trendy, textured look that hugs a wall or backdrop. Consider your venue space and budget — both styles can be fully customized to match your vision.
