How to measure balloon garland

Balloon organic garland 5 (20ft )

Measuring a balloon garland may seem tricky, but this guide will help you plan the best size for your space and budget. Often, the final decision is made during installation, but knowing your space helps!

If exact measurements aren’t available, a photo works just fine (see Image #1). For example, a standard double door might be 8–9 feet tall and 6 feet wide. To create a framing effect, we add extra length—1 to 1.5 feet—for a fuller look.

Garlands use balloons in various sizes: 5″, 11″, 16″, and 24″. Smaller balloons are usually underinflated to keep a rounded shape, while larger ones can be filled to max for bold impact.

Placement also affects length. A partial setup (see Image #2) may require 14 feet. Covering one side and the top (Image #3) may use around 20 feet. Expanding to full coverage with larger balloons or thicker clusters (Image #4) can go beyond that.

Balloon garlands can be adjusted to suit your space or budget. The more coverage or volume you want, the longer and more custom the design will be.
